FOUND Friday Finishing 2013 Strong, Reach Search and Content Goals

On our August 23 edition of FOUND Friday, we focused on the topic of “Finishing Strong: How to make sure you reach your search and content goals this year.”
GinzaMetrics CEO Ray Grieselhuber and COO Erin Robbins O’Brien were joined by Marcia Kadanoff, Bislr CMO. Marcia is an expert in ROI marketing and attribution analysis and a regular contributor to Marketing Profs, Clickz and Mashable. Find her on Twitter @openmk.
During the show, the panelist gave helpful tips for marketers on how to prepare now to end 2013 on a successful note. Here are some of the top tips.

Tip 1: Analyze now

Now is the time to do your marketing analysis in advance of Q4. Marcia advised that doing this helps you know how much you can bid on search terms that will be more expensive and help you get the positions you seek.

Tip 2: Optimize for mobile

Review your mobile strategy. Be sure that you are optimizing your emails and landing pages for mobile users. Check out this recent study for more details on mobile usage trends. 66 percent of Gmail opens occur on mobile devices.

Tip 3: Develop your selling strategy

This is a great time of year to determine how you can get in front of multiple decision-makers and the best way to effectively sell your product or services. Consider that this is a busy time of the year and people are juggling professional and personal obligations.
Think of breakthrough strategies for your content to keep awareness up. Marcia pointed out that Bislr uses retargeting to stay top of mind with prospects and will double down on those efforts in Q4.

Top 4: Develop SWAT teams

Create a marketing plan for the quarter, but make micro-adjustments monthly. SWAT teams are especially helpful for e-commerce companies during the end of the year rush. They can meet daily to recalibrate goals and strategies.
